Time-stood-still Church

This is St Thomas a Becket Church on Romney Marsh. I’ve seen some cracking pictures of this place, and frankly mine are a bit middling, as it was a bit too bright that day. It was about April I think. I might go back and see if I can improve my selection. Anyway. I love the way it’s in a field – when you think about it, so many churches must have been like this once. I say field, but really it’s on the cusp of the marsh, and it’s been flooded – imagine paddling to the church in your Sunday best. To get in, you have to go and get the giant key. Inside it has candles, and old-fashioned booths rather than pews. And a few pictures of the mayflower taken on the way.
