Union Mill, Cranbrook

A little outing. The days have been a weary grey of late, especially at weekends. Needed to get out for a little air.

This is a Smock Mill, built at the end of the Napoleonic wars of pitch pine and apple wood. Today it is staffed by a dedicated team of volunteers, ferrying tea up the numerous floors to the workers.

It was very dark inside, full of easter-egg fuelled kids (although they were cute) and everything had a bright green label on it, which rather affected the ambiance although it was very informative ;). I’ve tried to avoid them.

Here’s the link: Union Mill.

    1. Oh dear – I have one, but I try not to have too many shots so it’s not overwhelming. It’s from the back because of the wind direction, but it gives a feel for it. I meant to add a link to their website so I’ll put that in too. 🙂
