Fossiling Charmouth / Lyme Regis

A little exploration into fossiling. First attempt at Charmouth was sunny, but for the most part unsuccessful. We found few tiny fragments. It turns out wet weather is best (!) as it dislodges the fossils, and cleans up the ones already on the beach. But as it was a hot sunny day us Brits were out in force.

We needed advice. So we booked a fossil walk out of Lyme Regis. The rain turned up for free… although it made for some atmospheric pics. 😉 The earth is moving here – there are regular landslips. The old rubbish tip came down in 2008. But we found some great fossils too, I’ll try and take some pictures of those in the next few days. But here are some pictures for now.
