Harris Hawk

We live in south of England. It’s leafy, and you know, pretty. Imagine our surprise then when a large bird of prey arrived in the garden – like Eagle-big! I was alerted by the crows freaking out. He/ She landed unceremoniously in the Leylandii (the ones I want to chop down). I called one of the local bird of prey place, thinking they’d lost one. By this point we’d identified it as a Harris Hawk – originally from SW America or South America. It turns out this one went AWOL 18 months ago and has been on the run ever since. The pics are a bit rubbish as they are through the glass, and the branches were in the way… but you get the idea – the bird was beautiful :).
